Profile Pic

Graduate student at Clemson University-ICAR. Seeking internship opportunities in field of Automotive engineering starting Spring 2021

EDUCATION

  • Masters of Automotive Engineering, Clemson University-Spring 2021
  • Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering, University, Pune, GPA- 3.75, Spring 2018

WORK EXPERIENCE

Atlas Copco Gecia, Pune

Design Engineer
July 2018 - June 2019
  • Designed an Aftercooler for GMB40K which was a rotary vane pump and booster assembly used for compressing chemical application products.
  • Designed Purge manifold to facilitate easy assembly of accessories onto a vane pump. Also designed the piping required to accommodate extra accessories onto the pump with critical space constraints.

Edwards Vacuum, Czech Republic

Design Engineer
January 2019- April 2019
  • Worked on- Bearing Test Rig, to troubleshoot problems faced with a variant of Turbomolecular pump.
  • Involved in the design and testing of the bearing test rig which required the testing of the pump under different alignments and considering the lateral forces due to manufacturing defects.

Projects.

Design of Battery-Electric Vehicle; November 2019

  • Developed model-based systems design of a battery electric vehicle and validated requirements using simulations for various iterations and combinations of layouts.
  • Implemented subsystem coupling and integration between various subsystems and targeted on maximizing the profit based on various parameters like top speed, acceleration, cost etc.

Ultrasonic Sensor Signal Processing; November 2019

  • Implemented Kalman Filter to filter the noise from the signals of the Ultrasonic sensors using Arduino.
  • Used Sensor fusion to minimize error and implemented sequential Kalman filtering to predict the coordinates of an object placed in front of the sensors.

Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Keeping Assistance; December 2019

  • Implemented Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Keeping Assistance on a scaled down RC vehicle using Ultrasonic sensors. Calibrated the sensors and the RC car to work along the racetrack setup on a slope.
  • Implemented PID controller to avoid overshoot and oscillations of the throttle and the steering mechanism.

Canopy Opening Mechanism for Railway Wagon, August 2017 - May 2018, Defence Research & Development Organisation- R&D Establishment, Strategic System Group

  • Synthesized and conducted force analysis of 6 bar slider mechanism and designed the required structural steel links and hydraulic actuator to be operated at 200 bar pressure for opening the canopy of railway wagon.
  • Performed force analysis of structural links and calculated equivalent forces.
  • Validated the theoretical results using Ansys Workbench.

SAE ENTERPRISE, ELECTRIC BAJA 2017

  • Developed a Single Speed 2 stage reduction gearbox using spur gears with total reduction of 12.8 to suit our electric buggy with power handling capacity of 10kW. Increased the efficiency by 4%.
  • Development of control strategies to improve MPGe.

Active Aerodynamic Load Control; May 2017

  • Presented a seminar on design and working of flaps in windmills and Drag Reduction System (DRS).
  • Analysed the flap positions to get maximum downward force to facilitate effective cornering at high speeds in cars and greater power generation in windmills.
